Fare change takes effect January 1
Find out how your fare is changing
OC Transpo fares are changing on January 1. Most fares will increase by five percent. Fare changes were approved by City Council as part of the 2025 Budget.
There will be no change to the price of the EquiPass, Community pass or Access pass.
Discounted single-ride fares, including for seniors, can no longer be purchased at ticket machines or in cash on board buses or Para Transpo vehicles. If you are eligible for a discounted fare, be sure to set it on your Presto card. Para Transpo customers can also use ParaPay.
Kids and youth
Ages 10 and under will continue to ride for free. Kids 10 and under can get a Child card from the Rideau Centre Customer Service Centre to tap through the fare gates.
Ages 11 and 12 are eligible for the new $2 Pre-Teen (Child 11-12) single-ride fare. This discount is only available on a Presto card.
Tap tip
At Presto retailers and prestocard.ca the Pre-Teen discount will display as “Child”. Don’t worry! This is the correct discount.
Ages 13 to 19 are eligible for the Youth monthly pass. This pass will continue to be available until later this year.
Seniors 65+
Senior single-ride fares will increase to $3.20 on January 1. The Senior monthly pass will increase to $58.25 on February 1. This is the same price per month as the EquiPass.
The Seniors discount is now only available on a Presto card.
Seniors ride free on Wednesdays and Sundays. Proof of age may be required.
