Free transit service after 6 pm on New Year’s Eve!

Ride for free on New Year's Eve after 6 pm courtesy of Safer Roads Ottawa and MADD Ottawa and Area. Get home safely after you celebrate!

On Tuesday, Dec 31, O-Train Line 1 will run until 2 am, after which night bus service will run through downtown. B2 bus service will run until 1 am.

Transit is the best way to travel to festivities across the city. Use the Travel Planner or Transit, the recommended app for OC Transpo customers, to plan your trip.

The 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship is here!

We’re prepared to take you to and from every game:

Service to all World Juniors games, including preliminary games, is free for ticketholders. (Three hours before and after each game with a valid ticket.) Volunteers can ride for free all day on gamedays by showing their volunteer credentials.

Fare change takes effect January 1

OC Transpo fares are changing on January 1. Most fares will increase by five percent. Fare changes were approved by City Council as part of the 2025 Budget.

There will be no change to the prices of the EquiPass, Community Pass, and Access pass.

O-Train Lines 2 & 4 begin a phased opening on January 6, 2025

Big changes are coming to Ottawa's transit system!

Here's what to expect:

  • Phased launch: Lines 2 & 4 will open in 3 phases, starting with weekday service for at least 2 weeks, then expanding in phases to seven days a week.
  • More stations & new connections: 11 new stations, plus access to Carleton University and Park & Ride spots.
  • Airport access: Direct train service to the Ottawa International Airport.
  • Increased capacity: Lines 2/4 trains carry up to 420/260 passengers, with larger platforms for easier boarding.
