0:02-0:12 

Red, green, gold and blue lines animate on screen representing the four O-Train lines; each line has an animated train outline travelling along it. As these lines tilt, blue, grey and light purple lines animate and intersect with them, representing the three types of bus services; each line has an animated bus outline travelling along it. The words 100 Million appear between the lines, then turn into the words 75 Million. All lines animate off-screen.

Narrator: 

Today’s OC Transpo bus network was designed to carry 100 million passengers a year.  But post-pandemic, people are travelling differently, and ridership is now at 75 million.  

0:13-0:017 

The train lines animate back on screen, then split to focus on the new O-Trains Line 2 and 4, represented by blue and green lines and train outlines travelling along them.  

Narrator: With these changes, along with the expansion of our O-Train system, 

0:18-0:19 

The three bus lines animate on-screen forming the outline of a human head and brain and continuing off-screen to the right. 

Narrator: our bus network needed a rethink. 

0:20-0:23 

The head and brain disappear to the left and many outlines of thought and speech bubbles appear above the animated bus lines.  

Narrator: 10,000 customers, residents, businesses and stakeholders shared their thoughts on  

0:24-0:31 

The thought and speech bubbles disappear to the left as the animated bus lines continue to the right, forming a representation of a bus network with bus outlines travelling along them; the animated bus lines transition into the four animated train lines with train outlines travelling along each.  

Narrator: a bus network that meets the needs of today’s users  and takes advantage of speed and capacity of the expanded O-Train network. 

0:32-0:36 

The animated bus and train lines travel across the screen and intersect; the words, “New Ways to Bus” appear on-screen.  

Narrator: The result is the New Ways to Bus network. 

0:37-0:40 

The animated train lines move off-screen as the animated bus lines animate into an intersecting network which then reveals OC Transpo’s new system map that will take effect when the New Ways to Bus network launches.  

Narrator: With the new network, every neighbourhood and most customers will see changes to their trip. 

0:41-0:43 

The animated bus lines reappear with their corresponding bus outlines travelling across screen. One bus is travelling faster, one at medium speed, one at a slower speed.  

Narrator: Some customers will have shorter travel times, others will have longer travel times. 

0:44-0:54 

The blue bus outline stops at a bus stop while the light purple line and bus outline turns and proceeds to a bus stop further away.   

Narrator: Some customers will be closer to their bus stop and have a more direct trip, others will have to go further to reach their stop and may need an extra transfer. 

0:55-0:58 

The three animated bus lines move in from left of screen, with the light purple line tracing out a box shape in which the number 100 appears.  

Narrator: The new network will include over 100 routes. 

0:59-1:05 

The three animated bus lines reappear with the blue line forming the outline of a clock that ticks through 15 minutes; a blue bus outline animates in with the number 27 on it. Text appears on-screen corresponding to the narration. 

Narrator: This will include: 27 Frequent routes providing 15-minute service or less during the weekday on key routes across the city. 

1:06-1:11 

The clock outline and bus lines disappear, then a grey line and bus outline animate on-screen, with the number 58 on the bus outline; the line continues on  to form a shopping icon, a coffee shop icon, and a healthcare icon; the bus continues off-screen to the right and the icon disappears. Text appears on-screen corresponding to the narration.  

Narrator: 58 local routes providing better connections to neighbourhood destinations and transit hubs. 

1:12-1:17 

The bus lines animate on once again, with the light purple line encircling an O-Train icon and its animated bus outline carrying the number 17 on its side. Text appears on-screen corresponding to the narration. 

Narrator: And 17 Connexion routes providing direct connections to O-Train stations as they open. 

1:18-1:26 

The four animated train lines and three animated bus lines appear on-screen and intersect. Text appears on-screen: “New Ways to Bus Are Coming Your Way”; the words “Are Coming Your Way” are replaced with the words, “Frequent. Local. Connected.”  

Narrator: New Ways to Bus are coming your way.
