Dow's Lake is a small man-made lake on the Rideau Canal surrounded by Commissioner's Park, the home of the Canadian Tulip Festival (each May). The lake is located just south of Carling Avenue at the bottom of Preston Street, west of Bronson Avenue, and at the north end of Carleton University. Colonel By Drive runs along the south portion of the lake, while Queen Elizabeth Driveway runs along the east and north end. This is where the pavilion is located, offering restaurants, canoe and kayak rentals, and washrooms.

The Winterlude Festival, and other winter activities are held on the lake when it freezes. Stairs on the north and south ends of the lake allow ice skaters to easily access the Rideau Canal Skateway.
