As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Montreal Road westbound east of the Highway 174 interchange should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.

What:          
Montreal Road westbound at the Highway 174 interchange will be fully closed. One lane will remain open on Montreal Road eastbound.

When:         
Wednesday, August 14 at 11:59 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15.

Why:           
Temporary concrete barrier relocation.

Where:          
Montreal Road westbound at the Highway 174 interchange.

The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Detours

Motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 to Montreal Road:

  • Take the Highway 174 westbound off-ramp at Blair Road and travel north on Blair Road to Ogilvie Road. Turn right and travel east on Ogilvie Road to Montreal Road.

Local traffic east of the Montreal Road interchange on St. Joseph Boulevard, looking to travel to Montreal Road:

  • Take the Highway 174 eastbound on-ramp and travel east to the off-ramp at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. Travel north and connect to Highway 174 westbound from Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. Exit at the Highway 174 westbound off-ramp to Montreal Road.

Local traffic on St. Joseph Boulevard east of Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard looking to travel to Montreal Road:

  • Drive west on St. Joseph Boulevard to the traffic circle at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. Take the first exit at the roundabout to travel north and connect to Highway 174 westbound from Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. Exit at the Highway 174 westbound off-ramp to Montreal Road.
  • Anticipated Impacts
    Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
