Shelter installation at Tunney’s Pasture and Hurdman begins
During the month of January and February, OC Transpo will be adding nine additional bus shelters at Hurdman Station and 14 additional bus shelters at Tunney’s Pasture Station to improve customer travel experience.
The interim on-street style shelters will be added on the bus loop platforms between the existing shelters. Customers will notice on-site signage in place to guide them around construction work.
Construction details
- January 15 at Hurdman Station: Tree pits on the bus loop platform will be removed; the shrubs planted here have already been removed and replanted at Cyrville Station. Shelter installation will begin once this work is complete.
- January 15 at Tunney’s Pasture Station: Shelter installation begins.
- Some benches and garbage bins may be removed prior to the start of construction.
- Customers are advised to be mindful of construction areas and follow all on-site signage.
Once a permanent solution is constructed to improve shade and weather protection at Tunney's Pasture and Hurdman stations, the on-street shelters will be relocated elsewhere in the network to reduce throwaway costs.
