As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) projectcrews and equipment will be working overnight on utility installations at the Richmond Road and McEwen Avenue intersection.

What:      
Night work is required at the Richmond Road and McEwen Avenue to advance deep stormwater sewer pipes. Excavation, hauling and pipe installation will be the primary scope of work.

When:    
Tuesday, September 3 until the end of November. Monday to Saturday 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. Sundays and Statutory holidays.

Why:      
To complete critical utility work that is time sensitive and/or required during off-peak hours.

Where:   
Richmond Road at McEwen Avenue.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Noise and vibration from crews and heavy equipment may be expected.
  • All construction vehicles and equipment, working overnight will be equipped with broadband back-up alarms. Trucks use approved haul routes and workers and contractors park in designated parking areas.
  • Generators are required to run equipment. When possible, generators are wrapped in noise barriers.
  • Site lighting for overnight work is required to maintain safe working conditions for workers. The use of lights will be minimized where possible and special attention paid to minimize impact to residences.
