Q2 2023 Lookahead: South Extension

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train South Extension Project, construction progress on the Airport Spur continues through the spring. The following information is intended to provide a look-ahead of scheduled activities and anticipated impacts until the end of June 2023.
What
Crews continue to make progress on the southernmost part of the alignment:
Leitrim Bridge – Finishing works will be underway in Q2.
Leitrim Station – Station will be nearing testing and commissioning phase, with a focus on shelter installation and Park & Ride construction.
High Road Multi-Use Pathway (MUP) – Structural works will continue through Q2.
Earl Armstrong Bridge – Finishing works will be underway in Q2.
Bowesville Station – Station will be nearing testing and commissioning phase, with a focus on shelter installation and Park & Ride construction.
Bowesville Rail Bridge – Finishing works will be underway in Q2.
Mosquito Creek Bridge – No work is required in Q2.
Limebank Elevated Guideway – Finishing works will be underway in Q2.
Limebank Station – Station will be nearing testing and commissioning phase, with a focus on shelter installation and bus loop construction
When
Work will continue to take place Monday to Friday during daytime hours, weather permitting. Overnight work will occur in areas with approved permits. All instances of overnight work will be communicated prior to the work commencing.
Where
Please see map below for noted work locations from Leitrim Station to Limebank Station.
Anticipated Impacts:
- Overnight work could be required to minimize impacts to traffic and to maximize the construction season.
- The intersection realignment at Earl Armstrong Road and Bowesville Road will have traffic implications and motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should follow construction signage.
- Construction of the new Leitrim Park & Ride could impact the existing facility, but communications will be made through OC Transpo about any impacts to transit users.
