O-Payment available on Para Transpo starting January 27!
Starting January 27, the red O-Payment readers in Para Transpo minibuses will be active! The fare readers are the same as those on buses and the O-Train. You’ll find these readers in the customer area of minibuses allowing you to tap your Presto, credit or debit card, or mobile wallet to pay your fare.
How it works
- Tap your card on the red O-Payment reader in the customer area.
- The reader’s screen will turn green to show that the payment is successful.
Tap tip
Tap only your card, not your wallet.
Exceptions
Taxis
Contracted taxis won’t have O-Payment readers. To pay your fare:
- Hand your card to the operator.
- The operator will tap your card on the reader and return it to you.
- The reader will make a sound to show that the payment is successful.
Some fares are not accepted on O-Payment
The fare readers attached to the operator’s tablet at the front of the minibus will remain in place for now. You should still pass your card to the operator for the reader at the front to pay:
- A rural fare
- With an Access Pass
- For a companion with Presto e-Purse
Tap tip
The red O-Payment readers are the same readers as those found on buses and at O-Train stations. This means you can transfer between Para Transpo minibuses, buses and the O-Train within the transfer window without being charged again.
Checking your transactions
You can check your credit and debit card transactions online:
If you tapped on the O-Payment reader: o-payment.octranspo.com.
If the operator tapped your card on the reader at the front: prestocard.ca
