Nov. 22: O-Train Line 1 service adjustment for Stage 2 testing on December 1
To: Mayor and Members of Council
From: General Manager, Transit Services Department
This memo is to provide the Mayor and Members of Council with information regarding planned testing of Stage 2 software integration that will require a full O-Train Line 1 closure on Sunday, December 1 from 8 am to 12:30 pm.
For customers this means that on Sunday, December 1:
- O-Train Line 1 will be closed across the entire alignment throughout the morning, with full Line 1 service resuming at 12:30 pm.
- R1 bus service will operate between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations from 8 am until 1 pm.
- In addition to R1, shuttle bus service will run between St-Laurent and Cyrville stations, and between Lees Station and Mackenzie King Bridge, during the closure.
This temporary closure is required to perform testing of the Train Control System along with high-speed data radio, camera, and passenger information systems. Testing the integration of Stage 2 software with the existing O-Train system is a key step in preparing for the extension of O-Train Line 1 to Trim Station in 2025.
While every effort has been made to minimize impacts, we understand that the change to service hours is disruptive for customers. We thank our customers for their patience during this service adjustment.
Information, reminders, and updates will be communicated through various channels, including public service announcements, customer alerts, social media updates, signage at Line 1 stations, and on octranspo.com.
Customers can visit octranspo.com for travel planning assistance or call 613-560-5000. Schedules are available by calling 613-560-1000 or texting 560560 plus the bus stop number.
If you have any questions, please contact Troy Charter, Director, Transit Operations, at 613-580- 2424 ext. 52160 or me at ext. 52111.
