Notice of Weekend Road Closures: Sections of Richmond and Byron between New Orchard and Woodroffe, and southbound Woodroffe at Richmond

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, sections of Richmond Road and Byron Avenue between New Orchard Avenue and Woodroffe Avenue, as well as southbound Woodroffe Avenue between Richmond Road and Knightsbridge Avenue will be closed to motor vehicle traffic while crews complete pothole repairs.
Detours will be in effect. Local access will be maintained and residents in the area will continue to have driveway access during this work.
What:
Closure of sections of Richmond Road, Byron Avenue and southbound Woodroffe Avenue.
When:
Within the project zone, pothole repairs will continue based on favourable weather and crew availability.

Detour for Richmond Road and Byron Avenue
Motorists wishing to travel westbound on Richmond Road will proceed south on Woodroffe Avenue to Carling Avenue. They will turn right onto Carling Avenue and continue westbound until reaching Poulin Avenue, where they will turn right to reconnect with Richmond Road.
Detour for Woodroffe Avenue southbound
Motorists wishing to travel south on Woodroffe Avenue from eastbound Bryon Avenue will proceed east on Byron Avenue to Sherbourne Avenue. They will turn right onto Sherbourne Avenue and continue southbound until reaching Saville Row, where they will turn right and continue westbound until connecting with Woodroffe Avenue.
Motorists wishing to travel south on Woodroffe Avenue from westbound Richmond Road will follow the detour signs to Byron Avenue and then proceed east on Byron Avenue to Sherbourne Avenue. They will then turn right onto Sherbourne Avenue and continue south until Saville Row. They will turn right on Saville Row and continue westbound until connecting with Woodroffe Avenue.
Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.
