May 7-Albert Street Lane Reduction and Pedestrian Detour

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train South Extension Project, overpass fencing installation continues on Albert Street.  A lane reduction and pedestrian detour are needed for this work.
WHAT
Concrete end caps are being poured on the ends of the new overpass fencing.  Albert Street will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction.  A pedestrian detour will be in place.
WHEN 
This work is scheduled on May 7th from 9:30AM to 2:30PM. This schedule is subject to change.
WHY 
The overpass fencing is being installed to protect the public from accessing the active train line. The work zone will be protected with a lane reduction and pedestrian detour.
WHERE
The map below shows the lane reduction and pedestrian detour on Albert Street near the Bayview O-Train Station.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS
  • Motorists shall obey signage approaching the work zone.  
  • Cyclists and pedestrians should be aware of signage approaching the work zone.
  • Pedestrians will be detoured to the north sidewalk at Albert Street and Bayview Station Road.
  • Pedestrians will be detoured to the north sidewalk at Albert Street and City Centre Avenue.  
ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility is an important consideration for the Stage 2 LRT project. All pedestrian, cycling, bus, and vehicular movements will generally be maintained during construction, with some detours. Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution when localized detours are in place and adhere to all posted signage when travelling to ensure safety, as patterns may have changed.
