May 31 to June 3 - Highway 174 Westbound between Champlain Street and Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard - Weekend Full Closure

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 westbound from Champlain Street to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.

What:          
A full closure will be in place on westbound Highway 174 between Champlain Street and Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. The Champlain Street northbound and southbound on-ramps to westbound Highway 174 and the Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard northbound on-ramp to westbound Highway 174 will also be closed.

When:         
Friday, May 31 from 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, June 3.

Why:           
Line painting, flatworks, and drainage work.

Where:        
Highway 174 westbound between Champlain Street and Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard.

The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Detour
Motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 will need to exit at Champlain Street and drive north to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. They will then turn left at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard and reconnect to Highway 174 westbound using the southbound on-ramp from Jeanne d'Arc Boulevard.

Motorists travelling northbound on Champlain Street will need to continue north, turn left at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard and reconnect to Highway 174 westbound using the southbound on-ramp from Jeanne d'Arc Boulevard.

Motorists travelling southbound on Champlain Street will need to turn right into the OC Transpo Orléans Park & Ride, turn right on to Famille-Côté and then right on to John Holden Way. They will then turn left at Champlain Street, left at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, and reconnect to Highway 174 westbound using the southbound on-ramp from Jeanne d'Arc Boulevard.

Motorists looking to access westbound Highway 174 from northbound Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard will need to travel west on St. Joseph Boulevard and connect to Highway 174 westbound at the Montreal Road interchange (see map below).

Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
