May 3-6 - Highway 174 between Champlain Street and Trim Road - Eastbound Full Closure and Westbound Lane Reduction

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 between Place d’Orléans/Champlain Street and Trim Road should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.

What:          
Full closure of Highway 174 eastbound from Place d’Orléans to Trim Road, and a lane reduction on Highway 174 westbound from Trim Road to Champlain Street.

When:         
Friday, May 3 at 10:00 p.m. to Monday, May 6 at 6:00 a.m.

Why:           
Ditch excavation, slope finishing and shoulder paving.

Where:          
Highway 174 between Place d’Orléans/Champlain Street and Trim Road.

The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Detour
Highway 174 Eastbound – Motorists travelling eastbound on Highway 174 will exit at Place d’Orléans Drive and continue south on Place d’Orléans Drive to St. Joseph Boulevard. They will then turn left and travel east on St. Joseph Boulevard to the traffic circle where they will use Trim Road to re-enter Highway 174 eastbound using the on-ramp. 

Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
