June 23 to July 13 - Highway 174 Westbound at Trim Road - Road and Ramp Closure, and Lane Reduction
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 westbound east of Trim Road should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.
What:
Lane reduction on Highway 174 westbound east of Trim Road. The Highway 174 westbound off-ramp to Trim Road will be closed. A Full closure of northbound Trim Road north of the Highway 174 interchange will also be in place.
When:
Sunday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13.
Why:
Drainage work, flatworks, grading and paving.
Where:
Highway 174 westbound east of Trim Road.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Detour
To access Trim Road north of Highway 174, motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 east of Trim Road will continue westbound to the Tenth Line Road off-ramp. They will exit and proceed north on Tenth Line Road, turn right onto Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, and continue eastbound to access Trim Road north of Highway 174.
To access Trim Road north of Highway 174, motorists travelling eastbound on Highway 174 will take the Tenth Line Road off-ramp. They will travel south to St. Joseph Boulevard, turn right, and travel west to Tenth Line Road. They will proceed north on Tenth Line Road, turn right onto Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, and continue eastbound to access Trim Road north of Highway 174.
Local traffic south of Highway 174 will travel westbound on St. Joseph Boulevard to Tenth Line Road. They will then proceed north on Tenth Line Road, turn right onto Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, and continue eastbound to access Trim Road north of Highway 174.
Anticipated Impacts
- Excavators, bulldozers, compactors, and pavers will be used for construction. Noise from equipment will be audible and some equipment may cause vibrations.
- Trucks will deliver material to the site and haul material away. Noise from equipment and moving of material will be audible.
- Asphalt will be laid which may result in audible noise and some vibration from equipment.
- Site lighting and generators will be used to power lights which are a safety requirement for overnight work. Crews will place and/or direct the light away from residences to mitigate
any impacts. - Night work is needed at times to accommodate work that requires traffic closures that cannot be done during the day, thus mitigating impacts on the travelling public.
- Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
- Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place to ensure safety.
