January 11, 12, 15 - Notice of Overnight Full Closure: Highway 174 Eastbound at Place d’Orléans Drive
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling eastbound on Highway 174 at Place d’Orléans Drive should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.
What:
Highway 174 eastbound at Place d’Orléans Drive and the Place d’Orléans pedestrian bridge will be fully closed overnight.
When:
Highway 174 eastbound will be closed on January 11, 12 and 15 from 10:00 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. nightly.
The Place d’Orléans pedestrian bridge will be closed overnight on January 11 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Why:
Installation of flashing and removal of handrails and safety mesh along Highway 174 eastbound and the Place d’Orléans pedestrian bridge.
Where:
Highway 174 eastbound at Place d’Orléans Drive.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Detour
Motorists travelling eastbound on Highway 174 will need to exit at Place d’Orléans Drive, continue east along Place d’Orléans Drive, and then re-enter Highway 174 using the Place d’Orléans Drive eastbound on-ramp.
Pedestrians wishing to cross Highway 174 should follow the detour signage in place and use the Champlain Street overpass.
Anticipated Impacts
Motorists and pedestrians should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
