Hwy 174 Westbound - Tenth Line to Champlain - Overnight Closures
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 westbound between Tenth Line Road and Champlain Street should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.
What:
Highway 174 westbound between Tenth Line Road and Champlain Street will be fully closed. The on-ramps from Tenth Line Road to Highway 174 westbound will also be closed.
When:
Monday, November 18 at 9:30 p.m. until Tuesday, November 19 at 5:30 a.m. and Tuesday, November 19 at 9:30 p.m. until Wednesday, November 20 at 5:30 a.m.
Why:
Overhead sign installation.
Where:
Highway 174 westbound between Tenth Line Road and Champlain Street.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Detour
Motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 will exit at Tenth Line Road and continue northbound until they reach Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. They will then travel west on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard to Champlain Street. They will then turn left on Champlain Street and travel south until reaching the westbound Highway 174 on-ramp.
Local traffic on Tenth Line Road will travel north to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. They will then travel west on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard to Champlain Street. They will then turn left on Champlain Street and travel south until reaching the westbound Highway 174 on-ramp.
Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists.
Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
