As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 westbound at Orleans Boulevard should anticipate mobility impacts.

What:      
Highway 174 westbound will be closed overnight between Champlain Street and Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard while crews work on the Highway under the Orléans Boulevard overpass.

The following ramps will also be closed:

  • Highway 174 westbound on-ramp from Tenth Line Road.
  • Highway 174 westbound on-ramps from Champlain Street southbound and northbound.
  • Highway 174 westbound off-ramp at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard.

When:     
Thursday, January 16 at 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following day.

Why:       
Crane set-up for elevator glass installation at Convent Glen Station. 

Where:    
Highway 174 westbound from Champlain Street to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard.

The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Detour
Motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 will exit at Champlain Street, turn right to travel north on Champlain Street towards Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, turn left to travel west on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, and then re-enter Highway 174 using the westbound Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard on-ramp.

Alternatively, motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 will exit at Champlain Street and travel south on Champlain Street to Place d’Orléans Drive. They will turn right on to Place d’Orléans Drive, and travel south to St. Joseph Boulevard. They will then turn right and travel west to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. Turning right, they will travel north and reconnect to Highway 174 westbound at the Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard interchange.

Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
