Displaced Persons and Refugees Transit Pass Program
Displaced persons and refugees who have arrived in Ottawa are eligible for six months of free travel on OC Transpo.
The transit pass is a smartcard valid on buses, trains, and Para Transpo. The card is valid for six months from the month of issue and is non-renewable. The card is accepted on STO. Para Transpo users are required to register with Para Transpo but will have temporary approval until their application is approved.
The transit passes are distributed by the Catholic Centre for Immigrants (CCI) and local settlement agencies.
Eligibility
To be eligible for Displaced Persons and Refugees Transit Pass Program, you must:
- Be an individual / family displaced from your home country, having newly arrived in Canada;
- Not be getting transportation funding from any other source;
- Not be a Government-Assisted Refugee (GAR) or on Ontario Works (OW)
