December 1 to 4 - Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard at Highway 174 Interchange - Ramp Closure, Weekend and Night Work
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 eastbound at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.
What:
The eastbound Highway 174 off-ramp left turn to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard northbound will be closed. The right turn lane to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard southbound will remain open.
Residents near the interchange can expect the following construction activities to take place during the day and night:
- Excavation and grading using excavators and compactors. Noise from equipment will be audible and some equipment may cause vibrations.
- Trucks bringing granular material and hauling away excavated materials will be visible and noise from equipment will be audible.
- Asphalt being laid which may result in audible noise and some vibration from equipment.
When:
Friday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Monday, December 4. Overnight work will take place Friday night only.
Why:
Construction of an electrical crossing and paving that crosses the eastbound off-ramp.
Where:
Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard at the Highway 174 interchange.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Anticipated Impacts
Noise and vibration from trucks and heavy equipment is expected.
Site lighting and generators will be used to power lights which are a safety requirement for overnight work.
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.
For residents whose property borders Highway 174, equipment in the area may cause additional noise and vibration as the work progresses.
