Image - Dec. 10: O-Train Line 1 service adjustment for testing on December 14

To: Mayor and Members of Council

From: Renée Amilcar, General Manager, Transit Services

This memo is to provide the Mayor and Members of Council with information regarding planned testing for the Stage 2 O-Train East extension that will require a full Line 1 closure on Saturday, December 14.

For customers this means that on Saturday, December 14:

  • O-Train Line 1 will not operate all day
  • R1 bus service will operate between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations for the duration of the closure (6 am to 2 am)
  • In addition to R1, shuttle bus service will run between St-Laurent and Cyrville stations, and between Lees Station and Mackenzie King Bridge, during the closure
  • Line 1 will resume service on Sunday, December 15 at its regular start time

This temporary closure is required for system integration testing of train control software to allow for seamless travel on the extended line from Blair Station to Trim Station as part of the O-Train East extension.

We understand that this service adjustment is disruptive and thank our customers for their ongoing patience as we continue work on the East extension.

Information, reminders, and updates will be communicated through various channels, including public service announcements, customer alerts, social media updates, signage at Line 1 stations, and on octranspo.com.

Customers can visit octranspo.com for travel planning assistance or call 613-560-5000. Schedules are available by calling 613-560-1000 or texting 560560 plus the bus stop number.

If you have any questions, please contact Troy Charter, Director, Transit Operations or me.
