March 18 is Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day.

What is Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day?
It’s a day highlighted nationally by the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) to acknowledge and give appreciation to transit workers that keep cities moving.
You might ask, “why March 18? What is so special about that date?”
Well, on March 18, 1662 the “Five Penny Coaches” line, was officially launched in Paris, France as the first formal public transit created in the world.
