September 12 Transit Commission Update

On September 12, we provided an update on our fall service plan, a fare compliance initiative, the ongoing work by Rideau Transit Group (RTG) on the vehicle axle bearing issues and a lot more.

Planned O-Train Line 1 maintenance

O-Train Line 1 will be closed between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations on:

Sunday, September 29, from 8 am to 12 pm (noon)
Saturday, October 5, for the entire day

During the closures, R1 replacement bus service will run between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations.

Para Transpo pilot minibus arrives!

Our first new six-metre Para Transpo bus has arrived!

We’re in the process of replacing our Para Transpo fleet with new vehicles. This pilot bus is the first step towards this goal.

August 29 Light Rail Sub-Committee Recap

Last week, the City’s Light Rail Sub-Committee met to discuss the latest updates on the O-Train extension project. The Stage 2 LRT project has been making significant progress, meeting many milestones on all extensions in recent months.

Fall service change starts August 25

Starting Monday, August 26, O-Train Line 1 will run every 10 minutes approximately between 9 am and 3 pm on weekdays and during evening off-peak periods to better reflect current demand and travel patterns. Peak-period service will continue to be every 5 minutes.

School service resumes August 27 for French schools and September 3 for English schools.
Weekend service to summer destinations ends Monday, September 2.

Kids aged 12 and under ride free!
Groups of two can enjoy the added value of the 2-for-1 DayPass on weekends and holidays.
Reminder: Fare enforcement is in effect. Please be ready to show your fare upon request.

OC Transpo's new bus network will focus on frequency, local service in your neighbourhood, and connections to O-Train Lines 1 and 2 and key destinations.

OC Transpo’s new bus network will focus on frequency, local service in your neighbourhood, and connections to O-Train Lines 1 and 2 and key destinations.

New Ways to Bus is about responding to changes in customers’ travel needs and ridership levels. It will significantly change OC Transpo’s bus network and is a big step towards meeting our service reliability target of 99.5 per cent.
