Student Passes

Effective July 1, 2008

If you're a full-time student you can save money by using a discounted student pass.

Choose from a monthly, semester (post-secondary students only) or an annual pass for greater savings and convenience. Remember to save your expired student passes as you are able to claim the cost of your transit pass on your Income Tax Return.

Three Student Monthly Passes are available:

The Regular Student pass is accepted as full fare on regular black and on red peak routes and the O-Train. 

The Regular Student pass can be used on express routes with a top up of $1.00 or 1 bus ticket at $1.00 each.

The Regular Student pass can be used on rural express routes with a top up of $2.00 or 2 bus tickets.

The Express Student pass is accepted as full fare on all regular and express routes and the O-Train. 

The Express Student pass can be used on rural express routes with a top up of $1.00 or 1 bus ticket. 

The Rural Express Student pass is accepted as full fare on all routes. 

Two Student Semester Passes* are available which include the cost of the Pass Protection Plan:

Each Student Semester pass is valid for four-month periods from:
   ◊  Winter:  January 1 - April 30
   ◊  Summer:  May 1 - August  31
   ◊  Fall:  September 1 - December 31

The Pass Protection Plan protects your Semester pass from loss or theft and the cost is included in the price of the Student Semester pass.

The Fall Student Semester Passes are available from mid-August until September 20th only.

When available, Post-secondary Semester Passes can be purchased at Ottawa Client Service Centres (City Hall, Kanata, Ben Franklin Place and Orléans), OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres or at the Campus locations listed below: 

When purchasing an Annual Student Pass*, the student must be present at the time of purchase to have their OC Transpo photo ID taken.  

Two Student Annual Passes are available:

* Cost when purchased at the beginning (September) of the school year. If the annual pass is purchased later in the school year, the cost is pro-rated.

The annual pass is valid for the current school year from September 1 until August 31.Student Annual Passes are available from mid-August until May 31 and can only be purchased at OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres.
